Diary Entry
This week is basically 2 weeks as I had half term. I was extremely productive and actually completed all of my outcomes ready to print when I get back from half term.
Stationery
Here are some stationery sets that I like the look of because of the way they implement their colour scheme professionally and their watermarks in successful ways..
For my letterhead I wanted to keep it quite plain and simple so that the content could be read and taken seriously. I tried various layouts with the contact information and tomato watermark...
This one looks quite randomly placed.
I prefer the placement of the tomato in the corner but it is too big.
Final Letter Head
The tomato watermark is smaller and I have placed the contact information below the logo in the way that most letterheads are laid out.
My final compliment slip mimics the letterhead.
Business Card Design
I have made 4 variations to display in my mockup
Final Stationery Set in PSD Mockup
Here shows my letterhead, compliments slip (which is now in a landscape format) and the four business cards (two are the modified photographs) I feel that my stationery set fits with the rest of my outcomes with the colour schemes, old photographs and typography. It appears professional and clean so that it can represent the business.
Interior Design (+Uniform)
I would like my uniform to be clean and impressive to show the level of detail the business has gone into. Here is some uniform that I like the look of.
This was my initial design for uniform but it is far too simple.
Here is the design which I also put on the take away bags (just minus the 'to go' title)
I think it works well for the laid back but stylish restaurant and would look like a cool t-shirt design
Here is the design in black.
I finally found an amazing restaurant PSD mockup that allows you to change the design elements.
(Before)
First I added my modified images in the poster space.
I then changed the window filter to black to create a more sophisticated mood.
I darkened the walls and added an employee wearing the shirt to complete the scene.

I then changed the colour of the seats to blue and darkened the furniture.
Finally I added a female employee wearing the white version of the uniform.
Here is another angle using the same design changes.

Here are some sketches of the website home page I did to experiment with how I could design mine
Here are some existing restaurant websites that I like the style of.
I like the gridded format of this one and the bright images.
I like the way they have a text and image box as you enter the website to quickly give you an introduction to the business.
Here is my final home page. I have added a blue outline around the text box to make it stand out further, the tag line and a Book Your Table function to make it easy to see the main features of the website.
Mobile View:
For my mobile view I'll be showing the to go section where customers can order their food online
Here is an existing mobile view.
For my design I just wanted a simple to use format with sections for each area of the menu and easy to use shopping buttons.
Final Website Desktop Homepage & Mobile View Mock-Up:
I added a zoomed in bubble so that you can see the mobile view in much greater detail.
Children's Menu:
Here are some existing children's menus. I definitely want to create some activities to keep the children busy while they wait. I really like the menu on the left because of the bold font and colours to make it easy to understand.
For the front cover I have used the modified photograph of the three girls eating ice cream. This keeps the design style consistent with the other outcomes but children can identify with it.
For the menu page I divided it into sections as I wanted to create a pick and mix menu where the child chooses one dish from each section. The blue background is fun and inviting.
Here I started to add in the elements - I have kept the same design as the main menu but have changed the dishes to ones that children would want rather than the more unique dishes on the main menu.
I made this ice-cream cartoon to use throughout the menu as fun characters that the children can spot.
I then added it to the menu along with the dishes to the correct sections and dietary indicators.
Here is the first page of activities.
The left page is a language activity to give the children some Italian language insight. They have to find the Italian translation of their favourite character's names.
The right page is a maze where the child has to reunite the purple ice cream scoop with the others.
For the final two pages of the menu I have created a word search and a colouring page.
The back page is an answers page.
